History

The design is inspired by the richly ornamented tomb of Bibi Jawindi, a 15th-century Sufi noblewoman whose resting place became a celebrated centre of devotion and architecture in present-day Pakistan. Built around 1493 during the later years of the Delhi Sultanate, her mausoleum is adorned with geometric motifs that remain a testament to the skill and vision of its craftsmen.

Design

The pattern at the heart of this piece features a ten-pointed star surrounded by interwoven lines and angular forms, creating a sense of movement within symmetry. Repeated four times in a 2x2 arrangement, the composition forms a continuous lattice that draws the eye inward before radiating outward again. The negative space at the centre offers visual pause, while the surrounding pattern evokes the layered detail seen in carved tilework and jali screens of the Indian subcontinent.

Crafting & Finishing

Digitally modelled for precision and crafted with premium wood PLA, each piece is carefully shaped and hand-finished to bring clarity to the intricate geometry. Multiple protective coatings are applied to preserve the surface, enhance contrast, and ensure durability with a smooth, matte finish.
