The Meknes

The Meknes Collection is inspired by the bold geometry and monumental vision of the imperial city of Meknes in northern Morocco. Transformed into a royal capital in the late 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail, Meknes was conceived as a statement of power and permanence. Its sprawling gates, fortress-like walls, and richly adorned interiors reflect a design language rooted in strength, symmetry, and meticulous craftsmanship.

Unlike the intricate delicacy of other Moroccan cities, Meknes architecture favours broad, repeating patterns and assertive proportions. Geometric motifs are grounded and rhythmic, often carved into stone or plaster across large surfaces to create a sense of scale and cohesion.
