History
This piece draws inspiration from the monumental architecture of Meknes, the imperial city built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the late 17th century. Known for its massive gates, fortress walls, and bold geometric ornament, Meknes represents a design language rooted in symmetry and balance.
Design
The pattern is enclosed within a compact 84 millimetre frame and reflects the grounded, rhythmic forms often found in carved plaster and masonry throughout the city. Angular lines and interlocking shapes create a balanced composition that feels architectural and intentional, echoing the visual weight and measured restraint of Morocco’s imperial heritage.
Crafting & Finishing
Digitally modelled for precision and crafted with premium wood PLA, each piece is carefully shaped and hand-finished to sharpen the crisp lines and emphasize the depth of its interlocking forms. Multiple protective coatings are applied to seal the surface, enhance contrast, and improve durability, resulting in a refined matte appearance.
