This piece draws inspiration from the monumental architecture of Meknes, the imperial city built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the late 17th century. Known for its massive gates, fortress walls, and bold geometric ornament, Meknes represents a design language rooted in symmetry and balance.
The pattern is enclosed within a compact 84 millimetre frame and reflects the grounded, rhythmic forms often found in carved plaster and masonry throughout the city. Angular lines and interlocking shapes create a balanced composition that feels architectural and intentional, echoing the visual weight and measured restraint of Morocco’s imperial heritage.
Created with digital precision using premium wood filament and finished by hand, each piece is carefully sanded to sharpen the crisp lines and emphasize the depth of its interlocking forms. Multiple protective finishes are applied to seal the surface, enhance contrast, and improve durability, resulting in a refined matte appearance. Backed with multiple magnets, it brings a quiet yet enduring presence to any magnetic surface.
