Collection: The Itimad
The Itimad Collection draws inspiration from the refined geometry and delicate ornamentation of the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah in Agra, India. Commissioned in the early 17th century by Nur Jahan in honor of her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg, the tomb is considered a landmark of Mughal architecture. Often called the "jewel box" of Agra, it marked a shift in imperial style with the introduction of white marble inlay, fine lattice screens, and intricate surface decoration that would later culminate in the design of the Taj Mahal.
The Mughal Empire, which ruled much of South Asia from the early 1500s to the mid-1800s, was known for its deep appreciation of art, science, and architecture. Mughal builders blended Persian, Central Asian, and Indian influences to create a uniquely elegant visual language.
Their architecture emphasized balance, symmetry, and richly detailed surfaces, often using geometry as a tool for both structure and ornament. The Itimad Collection reflects this legacy through precise interlocking patterns that echo the visual rhythms of inlaid stone and perforated screens.
Each piece is crafted with digital precision using premium wood filament and finished by hand, offering a quiet sculptural tribute to a culture that treated art, architecture, and memory as one.
