This bookmark draws from the delicate ornamentation of the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah in Agra, a 17th-century masterpiece that marked a shift in Mughal architecture. Commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, the tomb introduced a new visual language defined by lightness, symmetry, and refined surface detail.
The pattern reflects the elegance of Mughal inlay and marble latticework. Interlocking geometric forms are arranged with quiet precision, echoing the balance and restraint seen throughout the monument’s carved facades and decorative panels.
Created with digital precision using premium wood filament and finished by hand, each piece is carefully sanded to highlight crisp lines and surface clarity. Multiple protective finishes are applied to seal the design, enhance contrast, and ensure a durable matte texture that holds up to regular use.
Measuring 169 millimetres by 48 millimetres with a thickness of 3 millimetres, this bookmark brings a graceful and timeless presence to the everyday act of reading.
