This circular wall piece reflects the strength and elegance of Moroccan craftsmanship. The pattern draws inspiration from the monumental architecture of Meknes, a 17th-century imperial city built under Sultan Moulay Ismail. Known for its massive gates, intricate ornamentation, and fortified city walls, Meknes stands as a testament to a remarkable era of artistry and ambition.
The design features a twelve-fold radial composition, with pointed arches and stepped edges that echo the visual rhythm of carved stone and traditional zellij tilework, a Moroccan mosaic technique where hand-cut geometric tiles are arranged into complex, interlocking patterns. This bold geometry radiates outward from the centre, creating a sense of structure, energy, and balance within a single, unified form.
Created with digital precision using premium wood filament and finished by hand, each piece is carefully sanded down to sharpen the clean lines and layered contours. It is then sealed with a protective finish to preserve its texture and deepen the visual contrast, giving the surface both durability and refinement. Designed for easy wall mounting with a built-in nail bed on the back, the piece is circular in form, measuring 176 millimetres in diameter and 15 millimetres in depth.
