History
This piece draws inspiration from the geometric ornamentation of the Ben Youssef Madrasa in Marrakesh, one of Morocco’s most celebrated centres of learning and design. Built in the 14th century and later restored under the Saadian dynasty, the madrasa is renowned for its carved stucco, colourful tilework, and cedar latticework. Each element contributes to a visual language rooted in rhythm, symmetry, and reflection.
Design
The pattern captures the spirit of the space through interlocking star forms and angular repetition. Designed within a compact frame, the composition is bold yet precise, echoing the quiet complexity of spaces built for study and contemplation.
Crafting & Finishing
Digitally modelled for precision and crafted with premium wood PLA, each piece is carefully shaped and hand-finished to sharpen its geometry and bring out its layered depth. Multiple protective coatings are applied to preserve the surface, enhance contrast, and ensure durability with a smooth, matte finish.
