History

The pattern is inspired by the marble inlay work of Itimad-ud-Daulah’s mausoleum in Agra, an early 17th-century masterpiece that helped shape the architectural language of the Taj Mahal. Built during the height of the Mughal Empire, the mausoleum reflects a period when art and architecture were seen as expressions of imperial vision.

The Mughals ruled much of the Indian subcontinent from the early 16th to the mid-19th century, blending Persian, Indian, and Central Asian influences to create a refined aesthetic defined by symmetry, precision, and intricate ornamentation. This design draws on that legacy, capturing a moment when geometry, craftsmanship, and cultural identity were deeply intertwined.

Design

The composition features an interlocking grid of eight-pointed stars and angular pathways, creating a harmonious rhythm that balances complexity with clarity. The result is a design that feels both rooted in history and visually timeless.

Crafting & Finishing

Digitally modelled for precision and crafted with premium wood PLA, each piece is carefully shaped and hand-finished to sharpen the geometry and clarify the edges of the design. Multiple protective coatings are applied to preserve the surface, enhance contrast, and ensure durability with a smooth finish.
