History
This wall hook draws inspiration from the geometric ornamentation of Al Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco, one of the world’s oldest continually operating centres of learning. Founded in the 9th century by Fatima al-Fihri, a visionary patron of education, the mosque and university complex is known for its carved plaster, detailed woodwork, and intricate zellij tilework made from hand-cut pieces arranged into complex geometric patterns.
Design
The pattern reflects this legacy through interlocking forms and symmetrical repetition. It captures the quiet discipline of spaces built for study and reflection, where geometry was used not only to adorn but to structure and elevate.
Crafting & Finishing
Digitally modelled for precision and crafted with premium wood PLA, each piece is carefully shaped and hand-finished to sharpen crisp lines and reveal the depth of its interlocking forms. Multiple protective coatings are applied to preserve the surface, enhance contrast, and ensure durability with a smooth finish.
